GEOTHERMAL EDUCATION AND OUTREACH
GEO'S MISSION
The mission of Geothermal Education & Outreach is to educate the general public about the viability and value of geothermal heat as an energy source, and to establish a "living laboratory," heated by geothermal sources, for the study of agriculture and other applications in a high altitude environment.
ACHIEVING THE MISSION
GEO is committed to working with the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Mono County, Cerro Coso Community College, local school districts and other organizations to educate the public about the viability and advantages of geothermal energy and other renewable energy resources as an alternative to fossil-fuel based energy. In addition to partnering with these organizations to develop and maintain energy efficiency and geothermal education programs, GEO is also committed to establishing a geothermal interpretive center and a "living laboratory" greenhouse.
